BigGong - As has been reported previously, Apple's App Store in China has become a victim of malware after local security researchers discovered dozens of applications 'sick' circulating on the App Store.
The malware, called XcodeGhost infecting applications created using Xcode tools that have previously been infected with malware. Xcode is downloaded via the website hosting third party and not from Apple's official website.
In a statement to Reuters, Apple spokesman has confirmed the existence of the infection and said that Apple has removed these applications from the App Store.
Initially only about 29 applications that are suspected of being infected XcodeGhost but later it turned out there were 85 applications are known to have infected XcodeGhost. These applications are:
Angry Birds 2 (Chinese App Store only)
China Unicom Mobile Office
CITIC Bank move card space
Hot stock market
Stocks open class
Telephone attribution assistant
The driver drops
Three new board
If you are taking any of the above applications it is advisable to immediately delete and re-download the update version after being given the green light by Apple
